¡Feliz Cumpleaños a mi!

Yesterday I celebrated my 22nd birthday Ecuadorian style here in Banos. I woke up with a cold so I spent the afternoon primarily just relaxing and hanging out with Keta. Later that afternoon, I treated myself to a much needed and absolutely wonderful hour long massage. Thanks to everyone who sent me emails and cards. It was great to hear from all of you!

After having dinner and some icecream, we headed out to Quillas Bar for the fiesta! It was a great night filled with lots of friends, drinks and dancing!

Tomorrow I will be heading back to Riobamba. One of the guides, Rodrigo, from my bike ride there, has invited me to join him and some friends on a trek to the El Altar mountains. It is a three day trek, which involves getting deep in the mountains and seeing some apparently amazing lakes. The rest of the group is likely summiting the mountain, however due to my lack of mountaineering skills, I will probably just be relaxing back at the base camp by the lake. We are starting the hike on Saturday, but I am going tomorrow to hang out and acclimatize at Rodrigo's house/ climber's hostal. It is located 15 miles outside of Riobamba up in the mountains a bit. Most likely I will be without communication until the middle of next week. I will make sure to, like always, take lots of pictures!
